IT System Engineer / Administrator - Fircosoft Platform
Senior IT Systems Engineer specialized in Fircosoft platforms, managing and optimizing sanctions screening systems within a regulated banking environment.
IT System Engineer / Administrator - Fircosoft Platform
Job description:
Location: Zürich
Duration: 12 months, contracting (with possibility to internalisation)
As part of the Application Integration team, you will design, maintain, and optimize the Fircosoft platform, ensuring robust sanctions screening across complex financial workflows. You will focus on system performance, rule accuracy, and regulatory alignment, working cross-functionally to continuously improve detection quality and operational resilience.
Install, configure, and maintain Fircosoft applications (FircoContinuity, FircoTrust, Firco Screen & Keep) across distributed environments, including server, database (Oracle), and middleware layers
Develop, test, and fine-tune screening rules and filtering logic to optimize detection accuracy and minimize false positives/negatives
Perform performance analysis and system tuning (batch processing, message throughput, database queries) to ensure high availability and low latency
Integrate Fircosoft solutions within enterprise architecture using messaging technologies (JMS, IBM MQ, Kafka) and interface with upstream/downstream systems
Ensure compliance with global sanctions frameworks (OFAC, EU, UN, HMT) by implementing and maintaining screening configurations and audit controls
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, including filtering engine errors, data inconsistencies, and infrastructure bottlenecks
Manage and maintain audit trails, change logs, and system documentation in line with regulatory and internal standards
Monitor and implement updates related to sanctions lists, regulatory changes, and Fircosoft releases, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
Contribute to solution design, architecture, and system integration discussions, focusing on scalability, resilience, and security
Support end-to-end testing (SIT/UAT) and validation of screening processes, ensuring data integrity and functional accuracy across workflows
About the customer:
A leading Swiss private banking group with a strong international presence, specializing in wealth management for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. Operating in a highly regulated environment, the organization places a strong emphasis on compliance, financial crime prevention, and the reliability of mission-critical systems. With a complex global IT landscape, it supports secure and efficient financial operations while continuously adapting to evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements:

Hands-on experience with Fircosoft platforms (FircoContinuity, FircoTrust, Firco Screen & Keep), including configuration, integration, and support
Strong understanding of sanctions screening processes, including list management, filtering logic, QA, and audit trail requirements
Solid knowledge of global sanctions frameworks (OFAC, EU, UN, HMT) and their technical implementation within screening systems
Strong infrastructure and backend expertise, including Oracle databases, PKI, SSH, certificates, networking (TCP/IP), load balancing, and firewalls
Experience with scripting/programming (Java, Shell, Perl) and messaging systems (JMS, IBM MQ, Kafka) in distributed environments
Proven ability to analyze large datasets, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize system performance
Experience across system implementation lifecycles, including integration, SIT/UAT, and production support
Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions within complex system landscapes
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across IT, Compliance, and Operations stakeholders
Fluent in English (C1); German is a strong advantage
