On our plant in Hettlingen, high quality products such as sterile eye drops, eye ointments and eye gels are aseptically compounded, filled, tested and packed for worldwide markets.You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and shaping the IT backbone of a pharmaceutical manufacturing site, with real influence on compliance, efficiency, and future digitization. This role offers a unique combination of technical depth, leadership responsibility, and business impact in a stable and regulated industry.IT Manager (m/w) 100 %Key Responsibilities:As IT Manager, you will be accountable for the full IT landscape at site level, including:IT Operations & End-User SupportEnsuring high availability, performance, and support of infrastructure, end-user devices, and manufacturing, laboratory, and office systems.ERP System OwnershipActing as the technical ERP owner, overseeing availability, access management, change control, integrations, and compliance with GxP and data integrity requirements.Cybersecurity OversightMaintaining a strong site cybersecurity posture aligned with corporate standards, including endpoint protection, network security, access management, and backup & recovery.IT Governance, SOPs & ComplianceOwning and maintaining IT SOPs, supporting CSV activities, and representing IT during internal and external audits (e.g. FDA, SwissMedic).Budget & Vendor ManagementManaging the site IT budget (OPEX & CAPEX), forecasting costs, controlling vendor spend, and supporting business cases for IT investments.Business Projects & Continuous ImprovementActively contributing to system implementations, upgrades, and digitalisation initiatives, translating business needs into compliant IT solutions.Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementLeading and developing the site IT team, collaborating closely with site departments and corporate IT (including offshore teams in India), and advising site leadership on IT risks and priorities.What You Bring:Education & ExperienceDegree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in an IT leadership roleProven experience in a regulated environment (pharma, biotech, medical devices preferred)Technical & Professional ExpertiseStrong hands-on background in IT infrastructure, end-user support, and ERP systemsSolid experience with GxP systems, CSV, IT SOPs, and controlled documentationGood understanding of cybersecurity controls in regulated environmentsExperience managing IT budgets, vendors, and external service providersPersonal CompetenciesGerman as a first language and fluent EnglishAbility to balance operational demands with governance and complianceStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsClear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersConfident working under audit and inspection pressureWorking Conditions:Primarily on-site at our Hettlingen manufacturing siteRegular collaboration with offshore support teams in IndiaWhy Join Us?At Ophtapharm AG, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our IT operations and contribute to delivering reliable, secure, and compliant IT systems that support the manufacturing of high-quality sterile ophthalmic products.
