Responsibilities

We are the MS Data & AI Innovation Team within the Marketing & Sales department of Mercedes-Benz; we drive strategy, governance, legal integrity and AI across data‐driven marketing and sales initiatives. We manage the intersection of business, data, digital innovation and compliance. Our goal is to ensure our concepts, communications, contracts and processes enable innovation while respecting legal, privacy, and ethical boundaries.

What you'll do:

  • Over 6 months, you will support the MS Data & AI Innovation team in tasks including but not limited to:

  • Assist in concept creation for data strategy: helping to develop frameworks, policies, roadmaps for data usage, data governance, and AI / analytics adoption

  • Engage with various stakeholders (marketing, sales, legal, IT, data science, etc.) to introduction of data strategy, including legal framework

  • Organise and run skilling/training sessions or workshops for internal teams inline with our Data Strategy, support data culture events and communities

  • Prepare presentations & visualisations of legal/data concepts; translate complex legal/data/privacy/AI topics into understandable materials for business units

  • Help monitor created guidelines and track implementation & adoption – e.g. ensure awareness, training, or contractual usage is being followed

  • Research and stay up to date on legal, regulatory, and technological developments in data protection, AI, digital environment

The activity can begin from February 2026.

Requirements

Ideally, you bring this with you:

  • Enrolled in a relevant degree (Law, Business, Data Science, Digital Policy, Computer Science, or similar), it should be a mandatory internship or a part of the thesis

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English (required); German is a plus

  • Basic understanding of data protection / privacy law (especially GDPR) and digital legal topics; familiarity with AI ethics / regulation a plus

  • Ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, business-oriented materials

  • Comfortable with presentation tools and visualization tools

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams

Nice to Have:

These are not strictly required, but will help you stand out:

  • Prior internship, course, project or work experience in legal, privacy, compliance, or data governance

  • Good understanding of business / marketing / sales environments; ability to think strategically

  • Understanding or exposure to AI (how models work, ethical & legal implications)

  • Any certification or coursework in privacy / data law
