The Global Commodity Manager (GCM) is responsible for developing and executing the global commodity strategy for assigned categories to ensure cost competitiveness, supply security, quality, and innovation across all regions. This role acts as the strategic owner of the commodity on a global level, aligning with regional commodity managers and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver value and mitigate risks.

  • Define and implement global commodity strategies aligned with ATO objectives.
  • Analyze global market trends, cost drivers, and supply chain risks to identify opportunities.
  • Ensure strategies are cascaded and adapted by regional commodity managers.
  • Develop and maintain a global supplier base, ensuring performance in cost, quality and delivery.
  • Lead global negotiations and establish framework agreements.
  • Drive supplier innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment on specifications, cost targets, and timelines.
  • Act as the global point of contact for commodity-related procurement topics according to the cross functional responsibility matrix and escalation guideline.
  • Ensure adherence to PSM Governance, procurement policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on global commodity performance metrics (cost savings, risk/claims, supplier strategy).
  • Provide guidance and alignment to Regional and Project Commodity Managers.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across regions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 5+ years in strategic procurement or commodity management, with global exposure.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of global supply markets and risk management.
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
