Responsibilities

Driving a cross-functional supplier management to win the best suppliers and guarantee optimal supply chain with target of highest quality and availability. Supplier management includes selection of suppliers, - qualification, - release, - evaluation, - development, - risk management and target agreements with the suppliers.
Carrying out the regional and international bundling of demands of the different source teams / locations and projects in order to achieve optimum use of purchasing power.
Monitoring of technologies and roadmaps of suppliers
Material Cost reduction and Contract Management
Supplier performance & development – operational and tactical ownership and accountability for ongoing performance of defined strategic and normal suppliers.
Analyzing the needs, markets and suppliers in order to create a basis for decision-making for the optimal source strategy.
Supplier relationship / escalation – lead day to day supplier relationships for defined suppliers to ensure internal stakeholder satisfaction is achieved.
Managing global commodity tasks & supporting local
Pursuing and implementing set goals, planning local or global negotiations or carrying them out independently and documenting the results if necessary (e.g. SAP).
Defining and tracking targets for Commodity Manager regarding supplies
Market research for suitable suppliers, technology trends / clusters
Keeping update commodity strategies regularly with relevant stakeholders
Communicating updates, trends, and risks to relevant stakeholders
Ensuring global coordination of supplier base in close collaboration with stakeholders for current & future requirements
Responsible for the global supplier management of the assigned commodity groups
Controlling of awarding strategies
Negotiating, approving negotiation results of Commodity Manager (set targets and/or participate negotiation)
Aligning and agreeing to awarding proposal.
Being a Functional lead of all local Commodity Manager belonging to the dedicated commodities (meaning coordination of strategy, target setting & tracking, final decision making, first line escalation to local if capacity or availability issues within commodity)
Ensuring professional risk/contract management
Ensuring escalation and risk management and ensuring that actions are initiated and tracked.

Requirements

Have several years purchasing experience working within a global supply marketplace with a strong technical knowledge of electronics / electromechanics components.
Have responsibility for one or more dedicated commodities, such as cable harness systems
Have several years manufacturing and/or training experience in electronics manufacturing and mechanical componentry
Experience of successfully managing and completing projects, which involve the cooperation of other functions and third-party organisations.
Able to achieve goals/objectives as an individual and also preferably in a team environment.
Able to manage and maintain complex contracts across a regional and global supply chain.
Qualified as an Electrical engineer or Industrial engineer can be a strong benefit
Excellent English language skills is a must and German language skills is preferable and at least one additional East European language, preferably Hungarian is a must.
