Responsibilities

Ownership of quality and test strategy for critical platform components
Design, implementation and maintenance of automated end-to-end, integration, and API tests using Playwright with TypeScript
Leadership of automation design decisions including automation scope and test pyramid
Improvement of test framework and patterns focusing on reliability, clarity, speed, and ease of contribution
Partnership with developers to build testability into system design and review test-related code
Debugging of complex failures across automation, test data, environment, and product behavior
Definition and maintenance of CI/CD quality gates in GitHub
Development of practical test data strategies for automated and exploratory testing
Contribution to non-functional testing for critical services
Mentorship and support of QA engineers and developers in automation best practices

Requirements

3+ years of experience in QA automation, Software Engineer in Test, or Test Engineering with strong hands-on automation development
Strong Playwright experience or deep experience in modern frameworks like Cypress, Selenium, pytest, JUnit
Solid coding ability in TypeScript/JavaScript and comfort with Python or another language
Proven experience building and maintaining automation in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, AWS)
Strong understanding of APIs, web services, and event-driven systems including testing with mocks, contracts, and controlled test data
Confidence leading technical discussions on test strategy, coverage, tradeoffs, and automation approach
Quality mindset with clean, reusable code and thoughtful design patterns
Comfortable using modern AI tools with strong judgment and ownership

Nice-to-have

Test management and traceability experience (TestRail or Xray with Jira), Documentation habits (Confluence, Coda), API testing depth (Postman, Pact, REST Assured, contract testing), Performance testing experience (k6), Docker and cloud-native familiarity, Experience working with microservices architectures
