This position sits within the EMEA payroll team and will be based out of our office in Budapest. The team is responsible for the end to end delivery of several payrolls across our EMEA region. This role has daily oversight of up to 10 payroll specialists covering between 8 – 10 country payrolls.

 

It is necessary for the Payroll Supervisor to have at least 3 years of payroll processing experience, along with previous experience in a supervisory role. In addition to this the role requires that you are fluent in spoken and written German. 

Working with the payroll specialists and appointed payroll vendor to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely payrolls is key whilst ensuring adherence to our internal oversight and control framework.

  • Staffing responsibilities (1:1, Performance Management, Development/Training etc.)
  • Provide direct reports with ongoing mentoring, coaching and other feedback for professional development
  • Monitor case management activity levels to ensure SLA’s are met for your reports payrolls
  • Supervise the monthly payroll processing to ensure this is completed in a timely manner along with our control documentation
  • Effectively analyse, evaluate and resolve sophisticated issues brought up by the team and lead each case through quick and accurate resolution
  • Serve as the back-up point of contact for the EMEA Payroll Manager
  • Work within our defined processes to ensure no control or compliance breaches
  • Work with the appointed payroll vendor to ensure all payments are successfully handled in a timely manner (employee, third party and statutory)
  • Ensure timely delivery of all payroll reports to internal and external customers
  • Work with payroll vendor to ensure tax year end reports are delivered in accordance with country legislation and on time
  • Assist Senior Manager with internal and external audit requirements
  • Work with colleagues from around the business to ensure smooth end 2 end payroll processing
  • Explore and introduce process improvements within assigned countries and beyond
  • Participate in business/functional projects as the need arises
  • Any other duties as the need arises to ensure the delivery of a first class payroll service to our colleagues
  • At least 3 years working in an EMEA Payroll Shared Service Centre or large multinational
  • German language skills, prior experience with Swiss payroll and ADP GlobalView platform are a plus for this role
  • Prior supervisory experience is essential
  • Excellent social skills needed with the ability to communicate well in a diverse work environment
  • Critical Thinking, problem solving and judgement skills
  • Strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Skills, specifically enhanced excel skills (including Pivot Tables & Look Up)
  • Ability to provide an excellent customer experience to ensure all payroll queries are managed effectively
  • Strong organisational skills to ensure the timely completion of several payrolls, within required time scales
  • Ability to multi task
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and numeracy skills are fundamental
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvement
