Responsibilities

Ethically leverage the potential of artificial intelligence and related technologies to enhance the University’s education, research, third mission activities, services, and operations;
Develop and continuously refine the University’s comprehensive Artificial Intelligence Strategy aligned with institutional goals;
Coordinate actions and initiatives aimed at the implementation of the AI Strategy across faculties and administrative units;
Establish governance and regulatory frameworks for the responsible and compliant use of AI in collaboration with relevant University leadership;
Advise the senior leadership, including the Rector on emerging AI trends, risks, opportunities, and policy implications;
Promote AI literacy and responsible AI culture across the University community;
Foster strategic partnerships with industry, research institutions, public bodies, and international organizations;
Support the integration of AI into curricula and executive education programs;
Identify funding opportunities and contribute to large-scale national and international AI-related grant applications;
Represent the University in national and international AI forums, networks, and professional bodies.

The Director for AI will actively contribute to the renewal of the University’s strategy by:

Enhancing the quality and international competitiveness of education and research through AI-enabled innovation;
Supporting the establishment and development of high-performing interdisciplinary research groups targeting national and international funding schemes (e.g., Horizon Europe and other major programs);
Contributing to the development and implementation of an AI-supported “teaching assistant” system;
Strengthening the University’s third mission activities through AI-driven industry collaboration and knowledge transfer;
Positioning the University as a regional leader in ethical and applied artificial intelligence.

Requirements

Application Requirements

Proven experience in leading and implementing AI-driven digital or organizational transformation in complex environments (preferably in large corporations or international settings);
Demonstrated strategic leadership experience (minimum two years in a senior management or executive role);
Strong understanding of AI technologies, governance, and ethical considerations;
Experience in cross-functional and multi-stakeholder coordination;
A doctoral (Ph.D.) degree is a significant advantage;
Previous lecturing and/or research experience in higher education is an advantage, or a clear motivation to engage in academic activities;
Established international professional network; academic network is a plus;
Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
