Responsibilities

Alignment of CDSO study teams with program- and study-level strategies
Leadership of CDSO Study Team for assigned studies
Representation of DS as a member of the cross-functional study team
Acting as single point of contact and accountable operational lead from DSS for assigned studies
Coordination of associated DSS study teams to meet operational objectives
Engagement and connection of global functional and cross-functional teams
Interaction with and influence of cross-functional team members to achieve program and study objectives
Utilization of operational analytics and project management tools to optimize execution of programs and studies
Management of internal and external resources
Tracking of study progress and preparation of study status reports
Anticipation and identification of issues that could affect timelines or quality and development of options and solutions
Ensuring adherence to federal regulations and applicable local regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH Guidelines, AbbVie Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and functional quality standards
Staying abreast of new and/or evolving local regulations, guidelines and policies related to clinical development
Participation in oversight of vendors and provision of feedback related to study operations, issues, and trends in performance
Coaching and mentoring Data Science Associates
Participation in CDSO and cross-functional innovation and process improvement initiatives
Contribution to study execution lessons learned across functions

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, management information systems, computer science, life sciences or equivalent
Master’s degree preferred
PMP Certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt desired
At least 3 years of pharma, clinical research, data management, or health care experience or 5 years of project management experience or applicable work experience
Strong understanding of clinical trial process and clinical technology
Experience in managing a clinical trial from initiation through to completion preferred
Effective leadership skills
Ability to influence others without direct authority
Effective communication skills
Effective analytical skills
