Responsibilities

A Cyber Security Analyst protects an organization's computer networks, systems, and data from cyber threats by monitoring for breaches, investigating incidents, and implementing security measures like firewalls and encryption. They act as the first line of defense, utilizing SIEM systems to analyze, report, and resolve security issues.

Requirements

  • Monitoring & Detection: Continuously monitor network traffic and security alerts for suspicious activity (e.g., malware, phishing, unauthorized access).
  • Incident Response: Investigate, analyze, and respond to security breaches in real-time to minimize damage.
  • Security Implementation: Install, maintain, and upgrade firewalls, encryption tools, and other security software.

  • Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct regular vulnerability scans, risk assessments, and penetration tests to identify potential weaknesses.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Document security incidents and ensure compliance with data protection laws and industry regulations.
  • Policy Development: Develop and maintain security protocols, best practices, and employee training programs.
