Responsibilities

As Corporate Counsel you will provide practical legal support to Mitsubishi Chemical Group affiliates across the EMEA region on corporate, commercial and day-to-day business matters. Working closely with senior lawyers and cross-functional colleagues, you will help enable safe, compliant and well-informed decision-making throughout the business.

This role is offered as a 2-year fixed-term employment contract and may be performed remotely (UK only) or from our offices in Wilton (UK) or Düsseldorf (Germany).

Contribute to corporate transactions, including acquisitions, divestments and restructurings, by conducting research, preparing documentation and coordinating internal stakeholders.
Support senior legal colleagues on a broad range of corporate, commercial and transactional matters across the EMEA region.
Prepare, draft and review commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with internal policies and legal requirements.
Assist with corporate governance and company secretarial activities for affiliated entities, including documentation, filings and record-keeping.
Support pre-litigation and compliance matters, helping assess risk, coordinate external counsel and manage documentation.
Collaborate closely with global teams such as HR, Finance, Compliance and Internal Audit, promoting trust, respect and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Requirements

Qualified lawyer or equivalent (Germany or England preferred).
Experience in a multi-national, diversified corporate environment; exposure to chemical, materials or manufacturing industries is desirable.
Role is well suited to candidates with a background in corporate / commercial property law, M&A, transactions or general commercial work.
Business-aware and practical approach to legal issues, balancing risk with commercial priorities.
Autonomous and proactive working style, comfortable managing multiple topics and adapting to changing demands.
Interest in compliance topics (e.g., antitrust, export control) and willingness to support training and awareness activities.
Fluency in English required; additional languages are an advantage.
