Állás leírása

Feladatok

Responsible for the company's accounting and tax management, ensuring all financial activities comply with Hungarian Accounting Standards (HAS) and relevant tax regulations. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate local financial statements are delivered on time. Provide reliable financial support and a basis for decision-making to the company's management by optimizing accounting processes and ensuring tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting and Reporting

  • Manage and maintain the company's general ledger, ensuring all transactions comply with Hungarian Accounting Standards (HAS).
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring all closing tasks are completed with high quality and within deadlines, and that Hungarian financial statements are accurate.
  • Prepare the statutory annual report (Éves Beszámoló) in accordance with Hungarian Accounting Standards and coordinate the annual audit process, cooperating with external auditors by providing necessary documentation.
  • Supervise and review accounting entries for accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and inventory modules,etc.

2. Tax Compliance and Management

  • Oversee the company's tax compliance, including but not limited to VAT, corporate income tax (CIT), local business tax, and other applicable taxes.
  • Prepare and submit all tax returns on time (e.g., monthly/quarterly VAT returns, annual CIT returns), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Optimize the company's tax structure through legal and legitimate tax planning.
  • Lead or cooperate during tax audits, managing communication with tax authorities to ensure a smooth process.

3. Accounting Policies and Process Improvement

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously update accounting policies, work instructions, and related process documents in line with Hungarian regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in existing processes, driving standardization, automation, and efficiency in accounting workflows.
  • Ensure financial management complies with internal control and risk management requirements.

4. External Communication and Reporting

  • Act as the main point of contact for financial matters with external stakeholders such as tax advisors, auditors, and banks.
  • Provide regular reports to the Hungary Finance Manager on the status of financial closing, tax developments, and potential risks.

5. Administrative and Data Management

  • Take full responsibility for administrative tasks related to the position, ensuring all financial data, documents, and reports are delivered and archived accurately and on time.

Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager
 

Elvárások

  • Must hold a Hungarian Chartered Accountant certificate (Mérlegképes könyvelő) with a valid registration number. (Qualification of Signing on Yearly financial Statement)

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a chief accountant or finance supervisor role.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.

Professional Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of Hungarian Accounting Standards (HAS), Hungarian tax laws (VAT, CIT, local taxes, etc.), and related filing processes.
  • Familiarity with statutory annual report preparation and audit processes in Hungary.

System Skills

  • Proficiency with ERP systems; experience with Oracle, SAP, or QAD is preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and other MS Office applications.

Language Skills

  • Hungarian: Native or fluent, sufficient for daily work and communication with local authorities.
  • English: Good written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with foreign colleagues and management.
