Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead our accounting department (2 accountant). In this role, you will be responsible for the integrity of our financial records, ensuring compliance with local (HAS) and international accounting standards, and overseeing the full cycle of accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department (AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, etc.).
Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Compliance: Ensure all accounting activities comply with Hungarian statutory regulations and tax laws (VAT, CIT, etc.).
Audit & Tax: Coordinate annual audits and act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities and external auditors.
Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal controls to prevent errors and fraud.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the accounting team.

Requirements

Education: University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
Certification: Chartered Accountant registration is mandatory.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role or as a Chief Accountant.
Language: Fluency in English and Hungarian (both written and spoken).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced MS Excel skills.
Mindset: Strong analytical skills, high ethical standards, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
