Responsibilities

Join our dynamic Team as a Chief Accountant at Avis Budget Group BSC in Budapest!  

Are you an enthusiastic and driven individual with a passion for accounting? Avis Budget Group is seeking a motivated Chief Accountant to join our Financial Accounting team. The role includes direct people-management of a team.

What you´ll do:
  • Works with cross functional BSC teams and regional staff to ensure the end-to-end financial processes in the overall BSC with special focus on the Finance and Accounting operational areas.
  • Ensures that the team has the right number of resources with the right knowledge to be able to meet service expectations, resolves pro-actively any gaps in resourcing across the financial operation.
  • Reviews and ensures that follow up actions occur as they are defined in standard reports e. g. monthly KPI report.
  • Supports the Senior Manager to ensure partners are delighted by the services that are being delivered, measured through the Partner Satisfaction Surveys, ensuring there is relevant feedback received from the partners and all actions are taken to deliver improvement opportunities on the managed area.
  • Supports transfer projects to ensure complete and robust knowledge is gained and then re-align or increase resources in order to deliver the new services. 
  • Ensures that teams are documenting processes correctly for on-going service delivery in line with SOX requirements, reviewing, approving, and ensuring documentation is correct. 
  • Ensures that there are clear expectations to team members concerning knowledge and skills, also oversee coaching and developing team members.
  • Identifies as early as possible the resource needs of future processes.

Requirements

You should apply if you bring:
  • Degree in Business studies/ Finance or Accounting.
  • Hungarian Chartered Accountant qualification required.
  • Proven experience in management of operational processes in accounting.
  • Previous people management experience is also a must.
  • Experience in knowledge/or process transfers is considered as a strong advantage.
  • Fluent level of English (both oral and written) is essential, any other European language is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and stake-holder management skills.
  • “Can do” approach, proactive problem-solving attitude, accountability and ownership over issues and tasks in scope of responsibility.
  • Confident level of Excel skills (functions as V-lookup, Pivot table etc.).
