Responsibilities

Review recurring operational and financial KPIs to spot unusual trends, missing data, or incorrect results
Make sense of the numbers: ensure data reflects business reality, challenge unexpected outcomes, and clearly explain insights
Translate questions from Supply Chain, Operations, and FP&A into clear analyses: for example, “Why did inventory jump?”, “Why is margin down?”, “Where are variances coming from?”
Identify data inconsistencies and drive root cause resolution
Build and maintain dashboards and reports that supports the business, ensuring the numbers are accurate and easy to interpret
Work closely with FP&A to support forecasting, monthly close, identifying variances, validating data, and explaining operational drivers behind financial results
Meet with stakeholders to discuss findings, challenge assumptions, and help them understand the story behind the numbers
Improve data logic, definitions, and data quality in collaboration with IT and business owners
Continuously look for simplification opportunities in reporting and analytics across the business

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 1 year experience in analytical role linked to business or financial decision making
Strong business acumen and ability to recognize when numbers do not make sense
Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other visualization tools
Basic technical skills (SQL, Python, or similar) are a plus, and you should have an affinity for working with data and technical tools
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Fluent in English

Nice-to-have

Experience with SAP or another major ERP is preferred
German language skills

This role will be responsible for providing analytical insights and business partnership to the Supply Chain, Operations, and FP&A teams as part of the Enterprise Data and Analytics Team at Apex Tool Group.

Beyond building dashboards and reports, this role must interpret results, recognize when data is incorrect or incomplete, and proactively engage with stakeholders to drive better decisions. The ideal candidate is comfortable challenging assumptions, explaining variances, and acting as a true business partner.
