Responsibilities

Guidance of Kotlin backend developers in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications
Setting technical direction and upholding code quality standards
Collaboration with software architect to define and evolve system architecture for scalability, performance, and security
Active engagement in coding, code review, and enforcement of best practices
Collaboration with Customer Support (L1), Infrastructure Support (L2), and Application Support (L3) teams to manage escalations and resolve operational issues
Participation in rotating on-call schedule for 24/7 client support
Mentoring and coaching team members for continuous learning and growth
Efficient task management and provision of technical insights for on-time and on-scope project delivery
Consistent communication with Project Manager to ensure alignment and shared objectives
Staying up-to-date with latest Java, Kotlin, backend technologies, frameworks, and tools and introducing relevant technologies to enhance development processes

Requirements

Proficiency in Java ecosystem with familiarity with Java 17, 21
Experience with Kotlin
Familiarity with back-end frameworks such as Spring, Micronaut, or similar technologies
Experience with AI-powered coding tools or agents
Strong OOP mindset and commitment to SOLID principles
Hands-on experience with SQL or NoSQL databases
Genuine interest in staying up-to-date with latest industry trends
Passion for writing clean code
Intermediate level of English language skills

Nice-to-have

Expertise in Containerization and Kubernetes
Familiarity with at least one public cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Mindset encouraging innovation and inspiring team members
Keen eye for latest trends in backend development
Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members
Commitment to supporting project mates
