Responsibilities

Guiding Kotlin backend developers in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications
Setting technical direction and upholding code quality standards
Collaborating with software architect to define and evolve system architecture for scalability, performance, and security
Engaging in coding, code review, and enforcement of best practices
Collaborating with Customer Support (L1), Infrastructure Support (L2), and Application Support (L3) teams to manage escalations and resolve operational issues
Participating in a rotating on-call schedule for 24/7 client support
Mentoring and coaching team members for continuous learning and growth
Managing tasks and providing technical insights for on-time and on-scope project delivery
Maintaining communication with Project Manager for alignment and shared objectives
Staying up-to-date with latest Java, Kotlin, backend technologies, frameworks, and tools and introducing relevant technologies

Requirements

Proficiency in Java ecosystem
Familiarity with Java 17, 21
Experience with Kotlin
Familiarity with back-end frameworks such as Spring, Micronaut, or similar
Experience with AI-powered coding tools/agents
Strong OOP mindset and commitment to SOLID principles
Hands-on experience with SQL or NoSQL databases
Interest in staying up-to-date with latest industry trends
Passion for writing clean code
Expertise in Containerization and Kubernetes
Familiarity with at least one public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members
Intermediate level English language skills

Nice-to-have

Experience with Kotlin as choice of language on the JDK
Expertise in Containerization and Kubernetes as significant advantage
Familiarity with public cloud providers beyond AWS (GCP, Azure)
