Responsibilities

Ownership of larger functionality of Case Platform
Design and implementation of backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and modern architectural patterns
Contribution of production-quality code
Performance of design reviews
Driving architectural decisions
Ensuring reliability and operational excellence including performance, maintainability, observability, and production readiness
Partnership with engineer teams in London and Budapest to align technical solutions with business needs and client experience goals
Driving engineering best practices including testing, code quality, modularisation, and continuous improvement
Championing the adoption of AI powered engineering tools to improve delivery velocity and quality

Requirements

6+ years of experience in backend engineering with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful architectures
Great analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
Strong technical expertise in object-oriented design, distributed systems, and enterprise integration
Hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL Server or MySQL), schema design, and performance tuning
Experience with or strong interest in Augmented development tools (GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Spec kit, etc.)
Ability to translate real business problems into technical solutions
Ability and willingness to learn fast, multi-task, self-motivate and pick up new things easily
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships

Nice-to-have

Experience with Kafka, Redis, or other distributed data technologies, Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments, Familiarity with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry), Background in workflow systems, enterprise platforms, or client lifecycle technology, Interest in prompt engineering or agentic AI tooling
