Responsibilities

End-to-End Ownership: Design, implement, and ship new features across the stack—from APIs and database schema changes to contributions to our agentic LLM system.
Backend Development: Build and maintain Python services (Django REST or FastAPI), ensuring secure, scalable data access and business logic.
Data Integration: Connect with third-party systems (ERPs, CRMs, authentication providers) and internal pipelines; guarantee data integrity and efficient synchronization.
LLM & AI Features: Collaborate with our AI team to integrate large language models for natural-language querying and autonomous agents.
Quality & Testing: Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; uphold code quality through CI/CD pipelines and reviews.
Performance & Reliability: Monitor and optimize backend systems for responsiveness, stability, and scalability.
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, data engineers, and QA; mentor junior engineers and shape best practices.

Requirements

Technical Skills

3+ years of experience building production services in Python (Django, Flask, or FastAPI).
Strong SQL skills and experience with ORMs (SQLAlchemy, Django ORM).
Track record of designing RESTful/GraphQL APIs and integrating third-party services (OAuth2, API keys).
Exposure to LLM applications (ideally agentic systems and LLMOps).

Engineering Practices

Proficiency with Git, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), containerization (Docker), and cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Familiarity with testing frameworks, code reviews, and writing maintainable, well-documented code. Architecture & Systems
Understanding of multi-tenant architectures, trade-offs between monoliths and microservices, and common design patterns.
Experience working with cloud providers at scale.

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving mindset and clear communication in English (German a plus).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup and navigate ambiguity with confidence.

Nice to Have

Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Previous experience with SaaS finance applications.
Familiarity with AI/ML tooling (e.g., OpenAI Agents SDK).
