Állás leírása

content-header
Our data cable factory is a mid-sized facility within the American Belden Group: a people-oriented organization with quick decision-making, reliable frameworks, and tangible autonomy for everyone. Real manufacturing, high-quality products, and a fast-paced yet human-centered work environment. We’re building the future of communications cable manufacturing in Budapest. In 2027, we will expand our existing manufacturing operations with a brand-new plant.
This role will support the relocation, modification, restart, and long-term support of production equipment being transferred to Budapest, with primary focus on controls, electrical, and automation-related technical work. A major element of the role will be supporting machinery readiness for safe startup and CE compliance in partnership with the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team, including both controls/electrical tasks and coordination of physical safety modifications such as guarding and related safety requirements. The role will initially focus on transition execution and then evolve into ongoing controls and automation support for the Budapest manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities
Transition / Compliance / Startup Phase
  • Assess transferred equipment controls and electrical condition and identify required modifications prior to startup
  • Support troubleshooting, retrofit, recommissioning, and startup of relocated production equipment
  • Work with internal and external resources to define and implement controls and electrical changes needed for restart and safe operation
  • Support CE readiness activities in coordination with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, including documentation, validation support, and implementation of required technical changes
  • Identify and coordinate controls-related aspects of safety modifications, interlocks, guarding interfaces, and machine protection requirements
  • Support commissioning and functional testing of equipment after relocation or modification
  • Document controls architecture, field changes, and startup modifications to improve long-term maintainability
Longer-Term Operational Support
  • Provide ongoing controls and automation support for manufacturing equipment in Budapest
  • Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, drives, sensors, and related industrial control systems
  • Support modernization and standardization efforts for aging or inconsistent machine controls
  • Help develop a more supportable controls architecture and documentation base over time
  • Partner with digitalization efforts where machine connectivity, data collection, or Ignition-related functionality is introduced
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or related technical field; equivalent experience may also be considered
  • Experience supporting industrial manufacturing equipment controls and electrical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across PLCs, HMIs, drives, field devices, and industrial electrical systems
  • Experience with machine startup, retrofit, or modification projects
  • Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment with relocated and legacy equipment
  • Strong coordination skills across engineering, maintenance, operations, contractors, and safety resources
  • Fluent English required; Hungarian helpful but not required depending on candidate profile
  • Experience with cable manufacturing or similar continuous-process equipment
  • Experience with extruders, cablers, and braiders
  • Experience supporting equipment moves or brownfield industrial transfers
  • Familiarity with CE requirements, machinery safety, guarding, safety circuits, and risk-reduction modifications
  • Experience with Ignition, industrial networking, and machine data collection
  • Experience with controls rework / recontrols / obsolescence upgrades
