As a Software Quality Engineer, you will work collaboratively with software engineering and QA to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. You will understand the functionality at hand, think about the implications in various hardware environments, discuss and plan implementation with developers as a preventive measure, carry out tests manually and continue implementing our automated testing environment.

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, detail oriented Software Quality Engineer who has demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and complex software environment.

Software Quality Engineer

Overall Responsibility for the Software Quality Engineer:

  • Understand the complex technical environment our software products live in
  • Work with developers to understand functionality, help define meaningful testing procedures
  • Coordinate automated tests, instruct semi-automated tests and carry out manual tests
  • Improve automated test suites and tools - including the opportunity to work on scripting, development and integration tasks
  • Document and communicate test results

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with scripting and/or programming languages such as Perl, Unix shell
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux
  • BSc or technical degree

Required Skills:

  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to think quickly and logically to ensure solutions identified
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills

Bonus Skills:

  • Related working experience in software Quality Assurance
  • Experience with CI/CD, automation and configuration management tools
  • Experience working with server virtualisation (VMware, XEN, Azure)
