Experienced Tax Accountant - Indirect Tax (maternity cover)

    The Tax team is a key part of the Finance and Operations Team and works closely with the wider global tax community. Typical tasks required by the role include responsibility for the extraction and analysis of accounting data for tax purposes, preparation of tax calculations and returns, checking tax adjustments and preparing tax reports for Vodafone operating company local tax teams based around the world. There are opportunities to specialize in direct or indirect taxes, and in particular countries as the tax team expands.

What you will do:

  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Prepare other tax reports (i.e. monthly sales and purchase listings)
  • Prepare overseas VAT reclaims
  • Ensure compliance with tax law
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations against final tax payments/refunds
  • Maintain tax background tables
  • Cooperate with business, local operating tax teams and other finance departments of the company
  • Support tax related projects, process improvements
  • Provide professional support for junior colleagues
  • Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify solutions
  • Offer support and guidance during audits

Join us if you have:

  • 2+ years of Taxation experience
  • At least upper-intermediate English language knowledge
  • Qualification in economics, preferably in accounting/finance
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • SAP knowledge is an advantage
  • Analytical skills, ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills

    Our recruitment process is certainly effected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but we managed to keep our routines regarding the selection, and hiring of our new joiners. We are conducting video interviews via Skype, therefore personal attendance is not needed. After successful selections, the entry process is digitalized as much as possible, and can be done in around two/three weeks time, depending on the availability of the given new joiner.

    Thanks to our extensive digital background, we are providing laptops and mobile phones for all of our employees, regardless the level of their role.
