is seeking a professional in the following position:
Chauffeur
(Személygépkocsivezető)
in the Motor Pool of the General Services Office (GSO)
Tasks: As one of several motor pool chauffeurs; incumbent receives work assignments from the Dispatcher and/or Transportation Supervisor to transport State and/or other Agency personnel or cargo
The duties of the Chauffeur position include but are not limited to:
- Operating safely and efficiently an unarmored U.S. Government-owned or leased motor vehicle to transport passengers and/or cargo,
- Operating Embassy vehicles in the transportation of official visitors in support of U.S. Government's official activities,
- Assuming duty driver responsibility on a rotational basis,
- Maintaining vehicle in a clean and serviceable condition, to include cleaning the interior and exterior of the vehicle,
- Performing basic vehicle inspection in accordance with established schedules and policies,
- Preparing trip reports, vehicle use and fuel logs,
- Estimating fuel consumption for trips,
- Safeguarding U.S. Government property and uses U.S. Government resources efficiently, including the fuel-efficient operation of vehicles,
- Position holder works as messenger as directed,
- Incumbent may be required to make trips that require out of-town stays.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
- Three years of professional driving experience is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Good working knowledge of the city and its environs, including driving routes and traffic patterns is required,
- Familiarity with the location of hospitals, police and fire stations within the city and its immediate surroundings is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- A valid, current driver’s license for the class of vehicle(s) assigned or authorized to drive is required - B and C categories are required,
- Ability to acquire D category driver’s license is required,
- Ability to quickly acquire PÁV-1 certificate (allowance to drive vehicles with blue beacon) is required,
- The ability to read maps and plan driving routes is required,
- Good verbal communication skills, and the ability to handle all persons with professionalism and discretion - are required,
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspection is required,
- Intermediate level automotive maintenance skills are required,
- Basic computer skills to maintain reports and for communication purposes are required.
LANGUAGE:
- Level II (Limited Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required (This may be tested)
- Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing Hungarian is required (This may be tested)
EDUCATION:
- Completion of high school/secondary education is required.
Salary:
- Gross: HUF 4.057.007/year
